-Will therapy help me?
Yes! Therapy is helpful for a wide range of challenges, including anxiety, depression, and relationship issues, but can even be useful for everyday stress.
-How does Telehealth work?
I’ll send you a HIPAA secure link and you click on it to begin the video session.
-What are some benefits of Telehealth?
Some benefits include convenience, time saving, and added flexibility.
-What are some risks of Telehealth?
There are some possible technical difficulties (which we will troubleshoot together) and while I can control confidentiality on my end, I cannot on your end, so it’s important to be mindful of location of session.
-Are there any benefits of not billing my insurance for therapy?
Yes! There is added confidentiality for your treatment and insurance cannot dictate treatment if they aren’t paying for it. The flexibility of not having a diagnosis label or the diagnosis being on your medical record.
-What forms of payment do you take?
Any credit and debit cards as well as HSA/FSA. I also provide superbills upon request.
-What is a superbill?
A superbill is a detailed receipt which you can provide to your insurance company for reimbursement for claims paid out of pocket.
-What states are you licensed in?
I’m currently licensed in Nebraska, Iowa, and Vermont.
-What are your hours?
At this time, I don’t have set hours, but have flexibility with my scheduling including evening and Saturday availability.
-What is your background?
I graduated from the University of Nebraska at Lincoln in August of 2019 with a degree in Marriage & Family Therapy and started working in rural Nebraska for the following 6 years. I worked mainly with adults and couples. I became the Intern Program Supervisor and created the Intern Program at my place of employment. I worked with people with many challenges including addiction, anxiety, depression, life transition struggles, grief, trauma, relationship struggles, infidelity, and many others.
-What theory do you use?
I primarily use a CBT (Cognitive Behavioral Therapy) lens to help understand patterns in thinking and behavior, but I also integrate techniques from other modalities to best fit your unique needs. I’m client-centered, meaning sessions are guided by you—because you’re the expert on your own life. I’m also Level 1 Trained in Gottman Method Couples Therapy and Certified Clinical Trauma Professional (CCTP).
